installing underwater lights...

I know this topic has been beat to death but I wanted opinions of the installation. I am going to purchase these underwater lights by Barnegat:

they have about a 5' wire - inside this wire are 2 smaller wires (1 red & 1 black). once I run the wires into the hull I will need to splice them off - 1 red to the accy switch on the console and 1 black to the negative battery lead? I am assuming the accy switch is already 'hot'. does this installation sound right? If I install them myself...I can save about $300.00

1 black to the grounding buses that you see in your bilge or under the helm. They hold lots of green wires. Try to find the one nearest your power source, as this will most likely be the one they intended it to be wired to. Negative on battery will probably work fine. Be sure to seal the holes with 4200. I love mine.
