So I've read over most of the threads related to installing the KVH system (KVH M1) and I'm still unclear on a few items. If anyone has any recommendations on the below items please chime in, specifically on a 320 or 340.
1. What is the best way to run the cable from the arch to the receiver? I would like to keep the glomex intact for free hd broadcast. I plan on mounting the receiver in the cabinet that housed the old mid cabin television since I've added a flat screen to the bulkhead over the aft cabin. I currently have coax and rca/component runs to both. KVh comes with a 50' cable so I will have to run it down the port side or directly to the bulkhead in front of the helm.
2. Since the TV is not on DC and I have no desire to run it on DC should I just install the receiver on AC? Are there any ill effects from the receiver being powered off every time we go between shore and generator power?
My next step would be to call kvh but I prefer to get some specific info vs a general overview.
Thanks
