Installing Engine mount on 2004 340 swim platform
Does anyone have experience mounting hardware to the swim platform on a 2004 or newer 340DA? This is the intergral swim platform (not bolted on, with access underneath), so you can't put bolts through and nuts underneath. Looking to mount a Weaver Motor Sto on the swim platform for my 6 hp outboard. Do you use inserts, or special lag bolts..? I believe you can get underneath the platform from the bilge to install backing washers and nuts. I snooped around on mine and found the swim latter mounting bolts. I have an 2004 340.

Would agree. Newer 340s have access all the way into the swim platform. Older 340s have this are blocked off, which is a shame. In fact, I'm thinking of installing storage in mine--with either velcro strips and tuper wear storage containers or something a little more elaborate.
