Installing Carpet DA330

Has anyone ever installed new carpet inside the cabin. Mine is the light biege but is stained heavily from mildew and spills. I have tried a few cleaners to no avail and I was thinking that a nice textured durable carpet might spruse things up. But then again like most things on the boat, I might be getting in over my head. So my questions are...

what kind of carpet

where do you get it

how best to remove the old stuff

what/where did you get the backing glue

Any advise would be appreciated.

I haven't bought carpeting from them, but I have purchased Mercury parts from their eBay store and been very satisfied with their service.

There are a couple threads about replacing carpets with manmade flooring material, as well as wood in the modifications forum.

Thanks for the responses. I spent this weekend scrubbing my carpets. Way to hot and muggy for much else on the outside. I am still debating the re-carpet issue. Maybe I'll take it one section at a time. If I do, I'll add to this post all the issues that arise.

Thanks again,

I replaced my cabin carpet last year. I got the factory carpet from searay. I takes a little work and is definitely a winter project. I took the bases for the dinette seats out and all the side pieces along the cabinets, ripped out the old and glued down the new. It takes a little work getting it all out because of the adhesive. I made a template and cut the carpet out of the boat. It wasn't that bad, but like I said, better for the off season. It's worth it when it's all done. I posted pics a while ago in the modification section.
