Hey guys. I am planning on installing an additional fuel/water separator unit between the tank and pump. This will be in addition to the already installed factory separator. With ethanol taking a jump in the future, I want to be on the safe side.
Has anyone installed on these additional units? What brand or unit? Should I be concerned about keeping a proper flow rate? Thank you in advance.

Racor makes fine units and, yes, be aware of stern drive vs outboard and flow. Being proactive is definitely a good thing, but I think you can do other things to avoid the extra cost of installing and maintaining a second filter. The easiest way (and perfectly acceptable) is to use an ethanol-fighting additive ALL the time, such as Startron (which you should already be using). Next, just keep an extra (or two) filters on board with you. With the Startron, though, it is very unlikely that you will have a problem.

I appreciate the info. I have never had a problem to date and I do use Startron religiously, I just didn't know if a lot of people were fitting additional precautions. Thanks again.
