The tube TV that is in my boat is dead. I refuse to spend over $100 on a refurbished tube TV. Therefore, does anybody have any advice on how/where to mount a flatscreen? I like the idea of making the current TV area into another cabnet. Is it possible to mount a TV on the starboard side beside the exterior hatch above the aft berth? Thanks!

Not sure if this is helpful, but here is what I did with our 330 DA.

Using the existing slide-out swivel mount, I made a stand out of some oak I had sitting around, and mounted it to the existing/original base. Opted for a larger screen, so when "closed" it doesn't fit completely into the opening. After half a season with this setup, I've been pleased. Also utilize the new found space behind the tv for storing DVDs.

Have a look <here>.

I installed 2 flat screens on my 36' sport fisher. I went to the local Home Depot and found an old wall mount fixture for a CRT TV. I turned it around and cut the base down to fit my 22" flat screen making it now a ceiling mount. Works perfectly and is 100% stationary. Total cost $8.00

I have a 2003 320 Sundancer and replaced the original TV with a 19" LCD with built in DVD. I did the same thing Away Point did and built a stand on the existing swivel and it looks and works great. I also hooked up a DC converter so if I am not using the Generator the TV still can be used. Good luck!

I have the same question and also have a 300 DA

I was thinking a good place it the bulkhead area above the aft cabin which is like a nice flat wall and easy place to mount.

If I dont have a Genny can I use an inverter?
