Hi,

Having been lurking in the forums for a while, I finally have a question worthy of the collective knowledge here. I recently took delivery of a 2009 Sea Ray 270DA Sundancer, which I will post again about in another thread. This thread is devoted to the modifications I'm planning for my boat, Sirius tuner (SCC1) with Sony interface (SNYC1) and a Ericsson W35 wireless broadband router. The Sirius tuner/interface will work with my Sony CDXH905IP head-end and has all the necessary components; notably a 12V DC power harness with inline fuse/filter.

My problem is the Ericsson W35 wireless router, there's not much information on how to hardwire the power. The W35 is new for this year and replaces the older W25. It's essentially a 3G cell phone (a la iPhone; voice/fax/data) married to a 4 port router with Wi-Fi. Basically gives a voice/analog phone line and Internet (via wire or Wi-Fi) on my boat. Its power input is 10-24V and uses 15W. It comes with a AC/DC power adapter. No problem... I just get a power harness... For the life of me, there is no information about how to directly hardwire the unit (even though they list marine as one of the applications of the unit). I can't even find a pin out of the power connector (a very mini 4 pin square molex with a 4 wire all black ribbon (yes, ribbon) cable) that's on the AC/DC power brick.

Any suggestions on how to wire this... I would like to get opinions before I start cutting/dissecting the AC/DC power.

Cheers,
Kaoru

go to the ericcson website - this unit should be supplied with a multi-national power connection...
it says it right there

I have Linksys router with DC/AC adapter plug to 120v. I got lucky due to the fact that the actual unit was 12v DC, so I just cut the adapter and hard wired the unit to 12v source. I made the connections with quick connect plugs, so in the event if I need to use my router somewhere with 120AC I'll still have the option of using the adapter it came with.
