Install a Grill Mounting Bracket in Swim Platform

I want to install a Magmal Pedastal Mount on my 380 Sundancer swim platform. I was planning on through bolting it using stainless hardware with nylon nuts, fender washers etc.. My question is should I just use 3M 4200 to seal the holes? I'm assuming that the is wood inside the fiberglass coating?

Hi Erik,

I'm pretty sure that your swim platform is solid fiberglass.

Even if there is no wood, you want to seal the hole. I brushed 4200 inside the hole then added more to the ss bolt when installing.

I just did the same thing on my 360 DA. I drilled the holes a little larger than I needed and then filled them with marine epoxy (which sealed the edges of the fiberglass). I then re-drilled thru the epoxy and installed. Really easy.
