I replied to your PM. Take a close look at everything. Not enough pictures to give you any feedback based on those.

Best of luck and use the soft market to your advantage. Be prepared to walk away if they don't immediately respond to any low offer. They may come back once they digedt it.

Get a survey if you pursue it.

Best of luck

I looked at several of these of the 260s before I bought my new 240. It actually is my favorite layout and is pretty roomey down below but that price is just average in my area of the midwest. This boat looks to have been in salt water and a little rough. It is just my OPINION but that drops the price a bit. I sure think you could get a better deal on a newer 260 with gen and all the trimmings for about $75K. I probably would pass this one up.

This kind of boat is one of many for sale in today's market. All of them will be very difficult to sell. Do your homework and offer what you believe will be a heck of a deal assuming its survey is good and it will meet your needs. Boats should always represent a small portion of your net worth. Ideally you should be able to write a check for the balance if the loan is called for any reason. If this one gets away (very unlikely) from you there will be hundreds more to choose from.

Does THIS seem like a good deal?

I just went through the process of buying a 260da. I'd be happy to talk or e-mail with you about some things I found during my search...

I ended up getting a low hour 2003 for $44k, which I think is a very good deal (it included a trailer). I was also looking at 2002s, and $39k seems like a good (but not great) price. As others have said, it depends on the hours and some other factors. Does it come with a trailer? Is it the good camper top or the "angled" camper top? spotlight? Looks like it has an anchor hawsepipe, which is nice...

The 2003s have a couple features which I liked better than the '02s. taller windshield, wood grain in the cabin...

Since it's in CT I'm guessing it's salt water? I was looking at a 2002 fresh water 260da with 365 hours on it, same exact specs as this (vacuflush, 6.2l engine, heat/ac) for the same price, in Wisconsin. Always fresh water. I can give you the guy's number if you want.

If you'd like to talk more about it, please e-mail me at jattea+lockegrp+com (replace the plus signs with the normal e-mail characters)
