5.0 Mercruiser w/Alpha 1
Hi fellow owners and enthusiasts. I am considering buying a 2007 220 Select bow rider with a Mercruiser mx 6.2l mpi. I assume it has a Bravo III as it has the twin props. I have found conflicting information about this boat on other searches and want to know if anyone here can help. First, what is the expected top speed of this boat? Can anyone tell me for sure that this model is 22ft length? Some listings show 23ft. What is the horsepower of this engine and is it reliable?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, the 6.2L is paired with the Bravo III and is 320 HP. That boat is 23' long with an 8' 6" beam, at 4350 lbs. dry weight. I would think with that package, it would be a 50MPH+ boat.

You can find the specs and manuals here:

Best of luck and welcome to CSR!

I think the 6.2 is the ultimate version of the small block, a 350 with a stroker crank, all built by Mercruiser now but maybe not in 2007. Guys used to call them 383s. Always been a great engine and I expect it will be for you too. I read the Bravo drives have clutches rather than the grabby gears of the Alpha, an improvement for sure. I have MPI on my 305 and love it.

I have a 2003 Sundeck 220 with 6.2l/b3, it will do more than 50 at sea level. We love ours, it’s fast and rides great.

your boat is likely 22 feet bow to transom, and 23 feet to the end of the swim deck. Sea ray changed the naming convention in the late 2000’s for marketing purposes.

Yea, my Select 200 is 22' including the molded in swim platform. Specs call it a 22' but the hull is actually 20'.
