I have a 9' west marine inflatable which I would like suggestions on dinghy brackets and ways to take "dink" along other than towing or pulling over bow rail Loosen fittings). Small ouboard fits in stern compartment very nicely.

Weaver davits are a great way to go. Very easy to use and they don't take up any space when the dinghy is deployed.

deflate, fold up, and re-inflate at destination. kind of a pain but it works!

I struggled with this one for months. Finally, I went with deflate, stow under the seat in the cockpit, inflate as needed. My next step would have been weaver davits. On a 340, I think the weaver davits are the way to go. On my little old 310, and having one of my crew dealing with chronic back pain, it was imperative to maintain clear access to the transom door. (But you are right, the little Yamaha motor fits perfectly in the 'trunk'.)

second vote for weaver davits. They are the way to go for the ability to store the dink in the fully inflated position.

Better yet, why not just store it flat on your swim platform with a few tie downs. Your platform is pretty big from what I recall from other 34's of that vintage.

I have a Mercury 240 and mounted the Weaver Davits with the quick-disconnect set up. It is very easy to deal with.
If you want I will post some pics. BTW, mine is inflatable and I did buy a rechargeable pump with the intention to inflate every use. This turned out to be a PITA. So I can inflate it, if need be, but mostly its attached to the swim platform.

Another vote for weaver davits. My last boat had them and I am looking to get them for my 290. Our local West Marine no longer carries weaver-brand davits, so I am looking at other suppliers.
