So we had the perfect mini playpen/bassinet for the boat. It worked great for the first few weeks of the season, but it's an issue now that my five month old is wearing nine month old clothes. He barely fits in it now, and now that he's learned to roll over, he constantly wakes up. Any ideas?

What has everyone done with their young children on board?

Barricade the aft cabin with rolled towels, and give him a soft lading area for when they inevitably fall out. For topside we had a bouncy swing that clamped on to the arch when we where at the dock.

We used a pack n play as well.

I have a few weeks before I need to figure this out as well.

I am going to point out the fact that the 340 seems to be the best solution to my wife. Hey, a guy can dream...

Thanks. I'll look into it.

We have a pack n play, but unless the wife ok's the bigger boat its not going to help much. I don't see a bigger boat any time soon either.

Thats quite a bit smaller than a pack n play. We may have to go that route but I hope not, they are huge!

Not yet. Still love this boat! When are you coming up to the big lake to see her?

We use the pack and play in the back of the boat during the day. For sleeping, we use a "Peapod" its a small tent like thing, all screen material, with a built in air mattress. All the zips are on the outside so he can't houdini on us while we sleep.

There was a recall on them, but from my research is was due to misuse. The air mattress is supposed to go into a pocket that is on the bottom of the unit. People were inflating the mattress and just sticking it in the tent, creating a gap where a infant could stick its head. When used properly its a great solution for the boat, or when visiting.

One thing we did when the kids were real small was to get a bed rail & block off the entrance to the mid cabin. This kept them in there safely.

Check out some baby tents for the beach. We used that and zipped them in and surrounded the tent with pillows. Worked really well.
