Impellers for 8.1L vs 7.4L 2000 era

Does anyone know if the impellers for 2003 8.1L Mercruiser Horizon engines are the same as for a 2000 7.4L MPI. I was told they are, but when I go to Mercruiser website they show different part numbers.
For the 8.1L it shows PN: 47-862232a2 (Sierra match is 18-3016-1)
For the 7.4L it shows 47-59362 (Sierra match 18-3087)
I am asking because I have several of the ones for the 7.4L from my previous boat. I am looking to change mine on my current boat which has the 8.1Ls. Don't want to go buy more if the ones I have will work. I realize that when I get the existing ones off, I should be able to tell if they match or not, but I want to be prepared with correct parts to minimize down time.

I would say that's right.
The 8.1 probably has the newer style all brass raw water pump.
The 7.4 the older style with the plastic rear housing.
Probably are different impellers.

Apparently, it all depends on the body. Some are plastic and some are brass. I need to give mine a rap with wrench...

My '04 8.1 takes a 47 8m0104229, and the description says all v8's after 2000.

Agreed. that is what Merc. website shows for the Part number on mine.
