You would think that Columbus, knowing what a thing he had accomplished, would have made some kind of lasting mark for future generations to show homage to.
I always thought it would be cool to go out to the Bahamas, go to the place Columbus landed first and walk that island. Turns out there has been centuries of debate about where in the devil that spot is. Here's some reading about the arguments. I vote for Plana cays.

Has anyone been out in that area and found claims by locals that they know the spot?
