Well, it's official. I have sold my beloved 290. Definitely not the second happiest day of ownership as some would say. I have had the inkling to sell it the last two falls and each time I changed my mind. Once even when I was promised full asking price. Who knows if it would've gone through as I changed my mind. But this year was different. I started to feel a bit overwhelmed with the upkeep especially because I bought a new home and have focused on that. So, I guess I got lucky because I sold it in a week! And for 7% less than I paid for it 5 summers ago. I think I did well even if that included the trailer I put under it. Strange feeling but loving not having to winterized and store it all winter. We'll see how I feel in the spring. Guess I can start thinking about what's next for me after maybe taking the year off. In the meantime she will be missed!

Gonna miss you on the water my friend.

Thanks all. Quint, I'm hoping you'll have me aboard for a visit. I'm told the new owner may keep it at Brookville after a winter in Florida.

Maybe in the spring you can downsize to a day boat. At least now you can get focused on your new home. I'm sure the itch will break out in the spring, and a ride in quints boat will just make it worse.

I knew you were thinking of selling...sounds like you made out alright.

Congrats on a sale,

Maybe you'll get a smaller boat to tinker with ?.

Congrats on getting a good price for your boat. My advice--never say never when it comes to another boat.

Cincy,
Congrats on getting a good price for your boat. Downsizing might be a future consideration which is what I did in order to move to AZ to boat on a reservoir lake. I don't miss the extra maintenance of having 2 engines, a genie, A/C, and a hot water heater. Sometimes I miss cruising in my old 320 but then when I go to the gas dock my former affection dwindles significantly.

I have to believe there will be another boat in my life in the not too distant future (maybe a year or so) but I do think downsizing will be the way to go. The extra maintenance with 2 engines, genny and all the systems really started to take its toll on me and that's even though I never really had any serious issues; knock on wood. But I like the idea of going back to simpler times in a sport boat of some sort. I'll stay active on the board though because in the end I still love talking boats!

Some times a man has to know when to move on. Hope you can get a boat that works for your family needs in the near future. In the mean time don't be a stranger here.
The boat thing is in your heart. You WILL own another at some point in time.

Back to a bowrider again Cincy, that was on your mind last time you almost sold it. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Always welcome on my boat !!! No surprise you got a good price for it.....as Frank W. says it's about condition of the vessel.

That is a spotless 290 fellas. The new owner got lucky or knew a bit about boats.
