Also want to clarify, if buying at marinas or running generator and bring ice maker or a freezer onboard.. and also was referring to being in Bahamas for 2 weeks..Besides Yeti, what suggestions for keeping ice on anchor stays for 7 days plus?
I recently decided to try a little ice maker. I got the one pictured for $100. Works on 110v Ac. Makes about two-three glasses of small ice cubes in ten minutes. No refrigeration to it so the ice will not keep, but since it makes them pretty quickly, and it is small enough to pack away, it seems to be doing what I want. We don’t cruise as long as you either (280), maybe a couple of days and only two of us.
I like mine. Don’t forget to bring water from home because you pour your own water in the ice maker then turn it on. I like it that way because water quality and taste vary in different areas. I bring some gallon jugs of water with me for the ice maker. Good luck. Wish I were planning a Bahamas run. Best I get is Destin!!!Thanks for that link -- I just checked it out and will be getting one!

Most marinas have ice, and I'm no germophobe but I remember the days of working in food/restaurants when no one seemed to ever clean out the ice makers. Being able to make it quickly on-board is a win-win. Can't wait to try this out!
