Hi All,

funny reading about all this winterizing stuff... I can boat all year. No Tornadoes, hurricans,
snow..

Anyway, I know you guys love your icemakers, I have one on my boat as well but haven't turned it on to make any ice. However, I tried this weekend just to kick this U-line unit to see what happens but after about an hour no ice cubes ( The unit was cold inside so it is doing something)

So my question is how long does it take? done't feel like running the generator for to long as I can buy a bag of ice from the marina for $5 aud ( Ozzie dollars)

Did you flip the metal wire lever to the down position? This actuates the ice making process. If it is in the up position, it will be cold but no ice.

The responses you have received are all good ones. Basket down, switch on, +ve water flow, 110 VAC power on (usually wired to same breaker as the fridge) all must happen.

If this is all done you will definitely start to see ice within 20-30 minutes. However, it will take HOURS to fill the ice receptacle. It is a slow process, usually accomplished with shore power only - just to give you a bead on the speed of ice making. We make ice only when on shore power (although it can be done using the gennie), put it in zip lock bags and transfer some to the fridge's freezer section. Any ice left in the ice maker will eventually melt when the shore power is disconnected and the fridge is running on DC.

How that helps..
Warren
