IAC (air control valve) Part Number Question

A question - I have read many threads on this site and others about the mercury IAC issues. I do not have a problem right now but I am stocking my marine spares.

i have found conflicting information on the part number for the IAC for my engine, and also if a Ford windstar or Chevy IAC is just as appropriate to fit.

could anyone verify the mercury part number and if there is a cross reference to an auto part two things, should I consider it and if so what is the part number of the auto comparable.

For the 350MAG in my 2006 260DA the Mercruiser IAC part number is 862998 and the gasket part number is 27-863112. I would assume your engines would use the same parts.
