I have a 2007 Amberjack and the wind pushed my boat and I into a concrete wall and the wall won. No damage to my hull but my stainless steel bow rail got scratched up real good. I keep my boat in great condition and I am so disappointed that the rail is messed up. Can someone suggest a fix that I can do myself? I never tacked something like this. Thanks all!!:smt001

It all depends..........Just how badly scratched is your bow rail. If it looks like I imagine it looks, you won't fix it with polishing compound. The damage will have to be filed, ground, or sanded down. Then the rail will have to be mechanically polished. I don't think this is something the "average Joe" with no experience can pull off, but then I guess you don't have anything to lose by trying.

If your bow rail looks like I think it looks, the polished SS pipe will probably have to be replaced. This will require a bending jig to get it right.

My bet is in the end you will have to get either the Sea Ray dealer or a boat shop to do this for you. Sorry and good luck.

if is not bent and has no kinks, it possibly can be repaired. problem - it needs a lot of labor. you can try with small scratch first and see I you can handle it. to repair it you need to wet sand scratches! it does work, but it is slow process. if done right results are excellent.

Call or visit flounder pounder marine. They probably have one.
