i/o Mercruiser 470, 165hp, w/ a 2 barrel carb

I have a 1987, 21' Sea Ray Seville, w/ a i/o Mercruiser 470, 165hp, w/ a 2 barrel carb.....

I always understood that this engine had a Cast Iron block, married to an Aluminum Head.....am I wrong about this ??

Has anyone ever installed a "cast iron" head to replace the Aluminum one ???

Has one ever been manufactured ??

I believe its the other way around - as far as the head is concerned, I was told it was a 460 ford head - if thats the case you could get an aftermarket aluminum one - also, some of these came with a 4bbl manifold
