I'm the owner of a 2003 Sea Ray 176 SRX with a 3.0L inline 4 and AlphaOne Gen II sterndrive. The steering wheel is almost 1/2 a turn off, that is, to go straight the steering wheel has to be turned almost half a turn. How hard is it to adjust the linkage the steering linkage or pull the steering wheel off and put it back on ?

I haven't done this on a 176, but ever other late model Sea Ray:
Has a keyed steering wheel. You can't pull it off and put it back on in a different position.
You position the wheel however it goes when the boat is going straight. Undo the 4 bolts on the back of the rack. Pull the rack off of the splined groves, straighten the wheel, and tighten the rack back up. It takes 3 minutes once you get the rack back exposed, because sometime there is a vinyl panel covering it.
