I live near Hamilton College

I don't know what is going on with heroin but it must be really bad. Our local hospital system here in NKY saw 311 overdoses in the first 9 months of the year. That is the only hospital system in NKY. How much heroin is being used if there is 311 overdoses?
 
Heroin is an epidemic here in the St. Louis region among the upper middle class and affluent kids. It is 10 times more potent than it was when I was a kid and a syringe is no longer needed. That removes a huge barrier that used to keep kids from using. Now they snort it or take it orally. A lot of lives have been ruined. It's horrible.
 
South West Ohio it is outta control. I have seen lots of heroin ODs the past year....many of them fatal.
 
Supposedly, my local news said its on a huge rise lately from addicts having a hard time abusing pain meds. It has been their new choice. Very sad.
 
She was probably just overjoyed and celebrating the recent election results that her father was helping campaign for. She just needs to tone it down a little next time. (sarcasm)

This is due to a Sept.18, 2011, state law amendment that states a witness who seeks help for a victim of a drug or alcohol overdose cannot be prosecuted for the possession of heroin weighing less than 8 ounces or possession of any amount of marijuana. In this case, that was Ian Grant, 21, of New Jersey, who also had his charges dropped, officials said.

I think that law saved her life. Now one can weigh the merits of the law based on how much value one places on a drug addicts life. I won't comment as I hope I never have to personally wiegh the merits of that law.
