I keep burning my Ipad and cellphone charger when connecting them to the boat outlets

Bear in mind i do not keep my boat slipped so i do not use shore power. This is merely a knowledge of electronics and electricity.

The only things i can think of off hand would be

A) a bad ground somewhere in the system

B) power surging from the shore power

The power surging, many stores sell travelling surge protectors. They plug directly into the outlet and gives you two usb connections and three outlets protected. They should sell for around 25-30$

Although either way id want to find out why it was happening. Perhaps someone with more slip/shore power experience can chime in.
