I just got my eyes opened a bit....

Due to my politics I was NOT going to read the book. But I did due to my wife's insistence that I would find it as interesting as she did. It was an entertaining read.
It didn't change our minds and I doubt it changed anyone else's.

I didn't read "What Happened", and I prolly won't read this one either. As is almost always the case, these books are a way for players to further their own narrative and show themselves in a good light. The history of their actions is usually all the light you need.

I believe that JVM225 was saying that he (JVM225) has no intention to add to Comey's finances - which sums up my feelings as well.
That’s what I was saying.

Don’t read anything that might change your “ confirmation bias” you might have to admit you’ve been duped ever since Bill Clinton was elected. Do you remember the “Impeach the President and her husband” bumper stickers that came out shortly after Bill Clinton was elected? I do! These were financed by big Pharma and the medical and surgical lobby. All because Hillary headed up a program to get affordable healthcare to the un and under insured. Take your blinders off and if you don’t want to buy his book take a trip to the library and read it for free! You just might learn something.

There is no such thing as affordable health care when the government is running it... Use Canada as an example..... Or better yet ... Obama's disgraceful attempt.... You need competition. (Period)
Bill and Hillary are the biggest con artists of all time... Comey was a puppet with his and the people closest to him having their strings pulled by the Democratic Party. You talk about blinders.... Why can't everyone see that ?

Health care is a limited-supply commodity. It is mostly rationed by money. If "coverage" becomes universal, it's still a limited-supply commodity. What is the rationing mechanism that will replace money?

Not saying I disagree since income tax rates in Canada are pretty high, but what do you base you “take Canada for example” statement on? Sounds like fake news to me unless you have studied Canada’s health care costs on an overall basis per capita and compared it to the US. But maybe I underestimate your background. Don’t take offence. There may be inefficiencies in universal healthcare but there is also the offsetting factor of taking the “for profit” element out of much of the system. I have no basis for direct comparison, but I will say that I have direct experience witnessing relatives experience with health care in FLA where a relative that was a hospital employee was terminated by the hospital employer mid-cancer treatment and had to fight to get health insurance coverage under the employer plan. Would never happen in Canada and those decisions are profit motivated in the US. I can say that I would not want to have a profit focused company making health care coverage decisions for me. I know the US is based on an entirely different approach to health care, but unless you can give me actual $ analysis, I have to call BS on whether or not the all in cost is higher or lower than Canada’s.

I am not going to get in a long drawn out conversation over this. If your from Canada you can't disagree you Heath care system is inefficient, stressed and taking away care that is deemed unnecessary after a certain age to drive down cost... Plus the wait to get care is getting ridiculous and the doctors that won't retire because they can't find doctors to take over their patients.
Where there is profit there is an underlying effort to drive out cost thru efficiency....
Just agree to disagree and let's move on .. It was your blinder comment that got me to post... And I gave you my comments.. That's it.

That's the point nobody wants to admit. You either ration the product by price or it is rationed by wait times. Simple economics.

Well since the 'affordable care act' I know many can't afford their insurance anymore. My accountant told me a couple years ago his healthcare went from $12,000 per year to $21,000 in one year. Likely quite a bit higher than that now.
My wife has been having elbow issues the last few weeks. A 'friend' of hers that is on welfare has what sounds to be the exact same issue. The 'friend' went to the doctor today and got X-rays and a brace and didn't have to pay a dime. My wife has an appointment tomorrow and I can tell you that right off the top we will have a $50 office visit and likely a few hundred $$$ for X-rays and probably have to pay several hundreds out of pocket for the brace. This is in addition to the $300 per month premiums I pay. We both work and have both worked all of our lives. The 'friend' is about 30 and has never had a job. There is nothing wrong with her other than being lazy. In the U.S. it seems this is more the rule than the exception. Something definitely wrong there. My wife hasn't been to the doctor in a few years because of the costs but her 'friend' and the friends sister go to the ER for every little ailment and get much better care than we do.
What most don't understand is that the affordable care act didn't reduce premiums, it just shifted them from those that don't want to work full-time to those that have worked hard to get where they are.
The affordable care act has made it very difficult for the average person to get decent care. I have a $4000/year deductible so unless we have a major incident everything comes out of my pocket for all healthcare. So far every year since Obamacare has been in I have had to pay about 98% of all my health costs out of pocket. What incentive do those with low income have to better themselves? I know people that have quit their jobs so they could get more free assistance and women purposely getting pregnant when their youngest gets close to18 so they can keep receiving government assistance.

Rant over.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't read this kind of tripe from "conservative" authors either. Sounds like your jump to conclusion is fueled by your own bias. Instead, why not look at the history of their actions, as I suggested. You might learn something as well.
