Welcome to the northeast. We had a week of subzero temps followed by 3 days of 50+ degree days with 60mph winds. Found the bow of the boat on the ground this morning and the tarp torn to hell. I got the boat up off the ground with the stands one turn at a time. I'm looking for the best price on shrink wrap and I'm wrapping it my self. Next year will be differe:smt089nt.

What part of upstate you from? My parents live in Oswego - Glad I moved south! haha

Man,
That sucks! I hate the winter too but it's the only time I can get my home projects done!

lol my wife knows she has a window from the end of November till April 15th to work me to death indoors
at that point the tools hit the floor .....and will still be there in December following

That is not good! Hope there was no damage. I keep checking the tarp I have on mine because it looks like the wind is pulling the tie down ropes and grommets through the tarp material. May have to find some of those installable grommets to repair the tarp. Good luck and hope it stays put.

Wow. Those pictures hurt me to look at them. Good job on getting it back on the jacks. I think you're on the right track when you're thinking about shrink wrap. That sheds the wind much better than a tarp.

The boat gods were on my side this time. No damage. It landed on two blocks and turned them sideways when it hit, but still made it to the ground. My guess is the ground got soft (PS its back into the low teens today) and the boat settled more on to the center blocks, taking the weight off the jacks, then with a good gust off it went. It broke every support rope I had holding the wooden frame up also. I stored it in our yard this year because we have lots of restoration work planned. Next year its being stored and winterized by a marina.
