Well, we just landed in Florida yesterday from Ice storm area of Ontario with friends of ours. We rented a car and drove to their winter home and set up his laptop & my new tablet on their Wi-Fi system. He can email in and out without any problems, but I can only receive email messages. Keep in mind here that I am not very tech savy, but I sure would like to know how to correct this. ~Ken

Are you getting a message, such as cannot relay outgoing messages?

The issue may be in your email settings, outgoing server. It may need to be changed to ISP...Internet server provider.....of whoever is providing the server you are now on

Without getting too technical, you cannot do what you want to do because you are no longer on your email provider's network and your friend's Internet Service provider does not trust your email address.

The quickest way around this is to use YOUR Internet Service Provider's "webmail" feature. Since you will login to YOUR ISP's web portal, you will once again be sending from a network that trusts you.

If you have the time, call your ISP and ask their support folks if they have a method to temporarily reconfigure your email software (Outlook probably?) that allows authentication with YOUR ISP's network. If so, that would allow you to send emails.

Change your outgoing mail server settings, to the same as your friends.

Normally in your email, you will have account settings.
