Looks nice! What brand are those?

Now go cut your grass.

Smart Tabs. I have added them to every boat I have owned. They cost a little more than a hydrofoil but don"t add any more stress to the outdrive.
The grass is getting high, I'm waiting for my new cover to be made, otherwise it would be in the water!

Yeah, Smart Tabs are a fantastic addition to any boat. They really make a marked difference in the performance. You're right... well worth the money.

It looks like your Smart Tabs are slightly different from the ones I installed just over a year ago. Mine only have 5 adjustment holes where the lower end of the actuator attach to the tabs whereas yours have a long groove providing infinite adjustment possibilities. In any case, if you like yours half as much as I like mine you're going to be very happy with them.

Those smart tabs look great. I have a pair to put on when I get time. My boats walks, at no-wake speeds and I am always correcting the steering. I am hoping my smart tabs will help this some. Just trying to decide just where to place them. I guess you go as far outboard of the keel as you can on the transom?:smt017

Very common. Happens on most boats. Tabs might help, but usually not a whole lot. Just gotta get used to correcting - eventually you'll be doing it without even thinking about it.

My 185 had the low speed wander, it is the nature of the single drive, single prop boat. I installed Smart Tabs on my boat and the low speed wander is 99% gone when in the rivers. The current, swirls and boils of the river water still gives a little, but not much. I have been on a couple of lakes where there was no current to speak of and pointed the boat where I want to go and turned the wheel loose and it went straight, no wander at all. If you get a little wind blowing from the side it may push you in a slightly different direction but no more low speed wander. I will also say that for me they have done everything advertised.

So far as mounting, yes as far outboard as you can go is better. If the tabs fit over a chine, don't worry about it, not a problem at all. Just like the OP did in his photos above.
