Has anyone installed one of these on a 340? It would be nice to carry a light pwc or small dinghy for exploring when you get to a destination. I would love to hear some feedback.

Not really feasible- maybe not even possible. Unless the transom is structurally designed for that purpose when the boat is built I'm sure it would take an inordinate amount of $$ to retrofit.

Aside from that, I don't think the hull is large enough to carry a PWC back there.

I have been on a 2005 340 with the SeaThrust hydraulic platform installed. Nice fit and it worked well with the existing swim platform height above the water. They make the lightest swim platform on the market. The one for this boat weighed only 330 lbs. The owner also had his props adjusted to allow for the weight that was added to the stern of the boat. If I remember correctly he reduced pitch by 1 inch but went from a #3 cupped blade, which was the stock cupping, to #5 cupped blade so as to give the stern of the boat more "lift" while at cruise speed. After tweaking the props the boat's running angle was better than before the swim platform was installed.

I've toyed with the idea, and after checking with at least one source, they said it was not feasible for what I was looking for. Sorry, I cannot recall the vendor; however after I mentioned I was interested in hauling a Sea Doo 155 GTX, they said no way, it's too heavy. I think it weighs about 700 pounds.

I do know if I have 3 - 4 folks sitting on the back bench area, I almost have to go to full trim just to get back to a somewhat "normal" cruising angle. I cannot imagine adding the weight of the platform and a jet ski that far back on the boat. Add people and it really taxes my imagination.

A lightweight dingy with a small motor I can actually imagine; however, we don't have one of those. We actually tow our Jet ski when we go anywhere, but at about 8-10 knots max. But, as you know, it's a PITA launching the ski, hooking up with the boat in open water, attaching it, etc.,

I believe Chris to be right on.
It's one thing to carry an inflatable or even a small RIB on the platform on a 34', a PWC is out of the question.
I don't know what Bluebelly's friend carries on his, but it sure isn't an 800 lb PWC.

Those bolt-on platforms place the load even further aft- because they mount behind the factory platform. There's no way on this earth that you can put 700-800 lbs on that platform and not affect the running attitude of that size boat. I'd bet it would barely (if at all) plane with full fuel and water tanks and five POB...
