Well,

Sort of taking a forced vacation next week and are planning on heading down to River Marsh at the Hyatt for the 3 day dealio.

Having been there last year the restaurants failed to impress for the price. So we have our meals planned out. We have the number of the Pizza place that will deliver to the marina. Are there any other restaurants (outside) that will deliver?

Also is there a shuttle to town (Cambridge) just in case we all get too loopy by the 3rd day of being poolside? I think I might be by day 3.

Thanks!!!!!

Agree on your assessment of the value of the food on site, although the last time I was there we actually had two good (not great; good) dinners on site. Neither were cheap, but at least they were good.

Do you have a dinghy? If so you have a few more options...

Plus, their "no grilling" rule does not appear to be enforced. If it is super crowded it may be, but as long as you don't look like you're going to burn the place down, you can always grill. At least we always have...

Thanks! No dinghy for us, so I was looking for some form of delivery or shuttle into town. I though and I could be wrong, but, I thought they had a shuttle to some local seafood restaurants as a service... Meh... Could just be me..

You are so right about the grilling rule. I can tell you it's ignored even on busy days as we were down there last Labor Day and there were folks grilling on their boats.

There was a shuttle service from the hotel to town. Check with the front desk for the schedule. It used to run every 1/2 hour if I remember right. We always grilled on the lawn too. Have fun.

Thanks Jim. I will check when we get down there I hope so that would give us an option!!! Yes I saw folks grilling on the lawn.. I thought, but my memory is always failing me, that there were charcoal grills there...? I saw that folks were grilling up there.

Take Care!

If you get "too loopy" perhaps take a trip from the Hyatt via boat to Oxford on the Tred Avon river. I think the restaurant Schooners will let you tie up there for a short time.

Wow what a trip...

1. Going down one of the belts on my starboard engine broke and overheated the engine. Caught it quick as we were by Hart Miller Island. Actually had a spare belt on board. So we anchored off Hart Miller and I got her changed, thanks to what I have learned from all the folks on here it was a pretty straight forward task. Topped off the coolant and we headed down.

2. While at the marina there was a, I'd call it a gale, came through. Had to fight to get a second set of lines on the boat (The Hyatt marina folks helped and I was so thankful they did). It was rocking for about 30 minutes!!! It was so bad folks got off their boats and we gathered on the dock.

3. Got to hang out with B-Fitting and met some more great folks from around the Bay and the Delaware River!!

4. Don't always believe NOAA. Calling for 2-3 footers on the bay with 10-15K gusts to 20K. So we left on the outgoing tide and hoped for the best. Got to the bay and there was a 10K breeze but the bay was beautiful less then 1'.

5. It's not a trip to Cambridge without going to Walmart...twice for things forgotten. Picked up more coolant as I realized that I was low from the previous overheating. So again with knowledge learned I topped her off, ran it, topped off again and all was good for the ride back!!!

6. The crab cake sandwich is quite good at the pool. But they don't understand the meaning of well done on the burgers. Wife's was red red red..

Wonderful vacation!!!

I would like to hear more about the dinghy accessible options if thats possible. I will be visiting here in August as part of our vacation. Anyone played on the golf course here?

There were quite a number of folks down with dinks. B-Fitting had his so he can fill you in on the access. Overall I believe you can just tie it off at your slip and use it to shuttle back and forth from your slip to the floating pier on the other side of the marina. It is quite handy as the walk over to the facility from the marina is quite long...

Agree with Alegria, you tie the dink to your boat and use it to get back and forth, it's a long walk without especially in the heat. A lot of people also have bikes which work well too.

The Hyatt in Cambridge is a great place with a bunch of good people, it feels like you are in a resort in Florida.
