Hurricane Idalia

The boat with the side view is an 80ft Galleon, the bow is pointing north. Our boat is near the front of the Galleon, bow pointing east - not visible from this camera.

Winds here are gusting around 40 right now. I can see in my boat's cameras that the Carver next to me is beating against the pier between us. Off to the marina to throw a couple of fenders on that side.....

What online resource to you find is most up to date and accurate in following the progress of the storm?
Crown Weather is a subscription service, but he is always right on in his predictions. We've used it for a number of years, and @FootballFan uses it also.

I'm probably going to head to Florida on Saturday to help with cleanup at our condo and our friends places.

Our condo has what they call an 'RV Park'. It's not for staying in, it's for storing boats and RV's. It's where my boat is kept. A friend sent this picture of his motorhome and trailer.

Water is expected to rise another 3' by midday.

My boat is at the same elevation as his site but can't be seen in the picture. I have two large sheds that store bicycles, tools, boat cushions, covers, etc. They'll definitely be underwater

Ugh, sorry to hear/see that

Not too terrible for me. The condo is intact, which is a huge blessing.

That trailer shown in my picture usually has a pristine 65 Corvette convertible in it. Luckily, the absentee owner had someone come by and move it to higher ground. Can't replace that easily.

Seeing the same thing where we are. Looks like our location highest water was 2 hours ago. I was thinking water would rise at high tide, it did not, actually dropping here.

Thinking this is very specific to individual locations and the nearby ingress/egress pathways which are nearby.

Same drop on the NE corner of Sarasota Bay. Still getting some 40 gusts though, so I'll wait til later to start undoing prep.

Marinas north of Fort Pierce are starting to take reservations again. Planning on continuing the trek north on Saturday. We are only making 60-80 miles per day on the ICW.

Ooh Vey! Best of luck to all of you down South. Hoping and wishing you all make it out unscathed.

Hope all you guys gals down south did ok with storm

Had someone check the boat yesterday. Everything good. Rode out almost 5ft of surge, no damage or issues.

I see you have someone that looks out for you but if you need anything let me know as I'll be down there starting Saturday afternoon.
