Question on readying the boat for soon to hit storm Isaias. Im in a lagoon in Bayville NJ. We have projected 75mph winds. My boat is tied up with 4 lines. Bow, Stern and 2 spring lines. The lines are set very long. Im not sure what the tides are going to do but looking for some experience and advice on what to do. Pull it, leave it??? Batteries and pump are all good but no shore power. Its a 220 select that I really love and don't want anything to happen to it. What say the pros here??? Thank you in advance.

Double up on lines if you are leaving it in the water.... I just went through this where I broke a line and had to cut two lines to get the boat off the dock....in the end I lost all six lines

Your boat catches a lot more wind than mine!! LOL Beautiful boat and great advice Thank You

I do and I can, I just wasnt sure if Id be over reacting. This storm, although dangerous, is going by NJ as a tropical storm

Yes, get it on the trailer and tie down the boat and the trailer if exposed. If you leave it in the water find what's the max storm surge forecast. You have to plan for that level of surge, at least, when adjusting your lines.

Perhaps your experience with this storm will be what ours was, a nothing burger. Very little rain, even. We were prepared for it to be worse, and happy it wasn't.

I just went through Isaias last night. Face into the wind... last night was bumpy with aft facing north.
As others have said at least double up the lines. I had two to port and starboard of the bow, two crossed off the stern, and two springs. Total of 10 lines. Over kill? Yes, but always better to be safe than sorry.

As Third Edition notes though, we had sustained winds off about 25-35mph. No real gusts and minimal rain in Cocoa, FL.
