Just checking to see if anyone has any opinions or experience with this product. We have just moved our boat to a marina where muskrat damage is very common. We are interested in this product as it would not require us to haul out our boat.

THANKS for your thoughts!

I Saw them at Miami and if we had rodents that could cause the damage that I saw, I would buy them.....An ounce of prevention.........No experience with this product, but looked very very good for your application.

I had to have custom grills made up and installed within weeks of taking delivery, which required that the boat be pulled. Muskrats moved in almost immediately, and a couple of times, came scooting out of the exhaust when I'd start up the engines. One boat, a couple of slips down from us, almost sank a few years ago due to muskrats. The guy was out on the water when alarms started going off. He looked down below and saw water spurting. Luckily, he hadn't gotten far away from the marina. He radioed back to have the travel lift ready and bolted straight back to the lift. Stupid muskrat had chewed through the exhaust and was still down below in the engine room.

But you could fit a small child in your exhaust ports!

Looks like a well designed product. We had problems at our marina with mink 2yrs ago, but the trapper solved that issue. They didn't get into exhausts, but crapped everywhere. Apparently mink keep muskrats away (they don't get along), so when the mink were gone muskrats moved in last season. At least four neighbors had them in their thru-hull and underwater exhausts. For some reason they didn't seem to like my boat even though the exhausts are at the stern corners, 1" above the water, and 5.5" wide leading to a 6' long rubber tube and then into a water exhaust can.

With some of their favourite boats not returning (burned in a large fire during the winter), I figured it was time to invest in rodent protection and have now ordered this product. I'll followup with a review once installed.

Wow, I would have never even thought about rodents geting into your exhaust. And people think boating in the Florida sun and saltwater is bad? Corrosion - yes Muskrats - NO
