Hull thickness on a 260DA

I realize this may be a no-brainer question for many of you, but roughly how thick is the hull on a 2006 260? I've never drilled a hole in my hull, so I have no idea. Does the thickness vary significantly from one part of the hull to another?

I think the hull thickness on my 270, where the through hull transducer goes, is about an inch. Here is a look.

Where on the boat do you intend to drill? I would consider a stud finder to avoid the stringers or other structural components. I'm not even sure if it would work on a hull but I'd give a try. :huh:Just a thought.

When we toured Knoxville during the build of our 300, they had just knocked the hole in the hull for the vent in the head. They gave it to us as a keepsake (no gift shop) The plug is 1-3/4 and 2-13/16 in diameter

Where is the vent located on the 300 head? I don't think the side hull is that thick on the 240, 300 or any other size for that matter. Not creating conflict, just checking.

My hull is that thick around my side vents. I know because I get critters that like to go in and build nests in them. They are holes that are about 2 1/2" in diameter on the side and have white clamshells on them. I have 2 on each side of the boat (total of 4).

The question to ask when you see that is how are they sealing the hole edges up...

The head vent on a 300DA is located about mid-ship port side about half way between the water line and the rub rail. I didn't think the hull was that thick at that point either.
