Hi everyone, I hit my 2006 sundancer 260 on a rock about 5 months and I have a crack underneath. My bilge pumps are bone dry however there is still water dripping out of the crack in the fiber glass. Does anyone know if there is an opening between the outside of the hull and the inside. What should I do because I can’t repair it while it’s still wet.

Still dripping after 5 months, or did you use the boat recently? Sea Ray sport cruisers are solid core below the waterline.

It’s been dripping for the past 5 months out of water for the off season

Where is the crack? Along a stringer by chance? Or through an area that can't easily be accessed?

These are the photos. The water is not accessible.

If it sat in water for some time after the impact, you could have water saturating voids in the fiberglass or any core/stringers you may have damaged. My opinion, you need a pro to look at that. Your other option is to start to do some exploratory griding and see what is under there.

No insurance involved? Thats some significant damage.

It did stay after the impact on the water for about a month or more and not much running I noticed a little losing power, but I didn’t pay attention

Not a repair you can handle unless you are a pro. You need an expert without a conflict of interest (insurance company surveyor). Without be being alarmist, this could cost more than the boat is worth. Could be simple but not likely.

Also, the Marina mechanic said to drill some holes and see if more water drains out

You can do that and put a shop vac on it to suck water out quicker. Drill a few strategic holes slap the attachment on there and leave it sucking like a leach.

My guess is, leaving it in the water for a month saturated the exposed stringer(s). That is pronounced $$$$

Your boat does not have wooden stringers. However, it does have an inner liner (essentially two hulls that are glued together). You have water trapped between the two hulls.
