While our boat was safely tucked away in dry stack, we were able to watch about 6" of precip fall in Panama City. :smt089
To add insult to injury, the storm sewer backed up and left a foot and a half of water in the street. Not bad until a truck went through the no wake zone at 10 mph and put a 12" storm surge into the garage. Then the back yard flooded and our pool is now the same beautiful emerald green as the gulf.

At least we were able to smoke a nice brisket, with along with my special baked beans, slaw and frosty adult beverages and had a great dinner. Not a bad ending for a great holiday. :smt038

Had 5 1/2" rain by morning over here in Pensacola.
Didn't continue through the day as bad as you got it though. It cleared enough for us to go over to the boat and fish a little from the dock. While there we saw a huge black drum in the shallows, but it wasn't interested in what we had to offer.
Then after an early dinner it was off to the Wahoo's baseball game in the afternoon (we won!). Unfortunately, it was still too windy @ 22 mph to go get the boat after the game to watch the fireworks. The bay was solid with whitecaps when we looked at it from the ball park. :smt009 Still not allowed to bounce that much after a fairly recent herniated disk, so saw what we could of the fireworks from home. Neighbors around us were kind enough to share the joy of their out state fireworks purchases too :smt119
But we still managed to have a super (and safe) Independence Day and hope everyone else did too.

Rained all day yesterday. Managed to motor from the slip to the fuel dock for a pump-out. Frosty adult beverges at the dock were the order of the day.

Had no real rain but cloudy all day with one little sprinkle
swam for a few minutes but the water was a little cold to suit me
rafted with some inlaws on thier sailboat
and learned to back the 340 into the slip in a 20mph crosswind...3rd time is a charm and I am man enough to
bail the attempt and take another swing at it rather than skin something up.

It SUCKED !!, Rained hard with the wind blowing at mach 1. :smt021 .

I can't complain. Went to Lake George with the family. We spent the first couple days at Great Escapes Six Flags running all over the park & water park. We spent the fourth sitting on the Trout Lake (where my in-laws house is) and hung out at the beach taking the kids tubing. My oldest guy & niece discovered kayaking and were exploring the lake while I spotted them from the boat, which is my father in-laws 16ft Bayliner with a 50hp merc outboard.

We finally got to use the boat, we rafter with Ron, and a few of his marina buddies at Zachs bay. Took my niece and nephew for the maiden voyage of our new dinghy and played in the water.

No great pics like those above but we had a great day. We had our 3-year old grandson spend Wednesday night with us and he's 100% on the go all the time. I got him to ride his small bike and even learn how to put the brakes on. We went to the club for a bbq at 5:00, visited with friends, I cooked the dogs, everyone chowed down then we left. Had some friends over to the house for some munchies then GW and I drove to an area where we could watch the fireworks.

We were treated to several rousing songs ("I love the USA", "America", etc.) by a group of about 20-25 high school age kids who sat down next to us. I really enjoyed hearing their horrible voices joining together to express their admiration for our country. The fireworks were great, albeit a short show of about 25 minutes.

We went home then across the street to join a neighborhood gathering for a few 'ritas and got home around midnight.

What a great July 4th day!

Not a bad day. Hung out at the dock and didn't go out until almost dusk. Was supposed to go out earlier with my daughter and her friends, but they decided they would rather spend the afternoon in a pool and didn't come to the boat until 6. We had dinner at the dock and then took the boat to watch the fireworks along the South Shore of Long Island. Mostly private stuff, but there was plenty of it. Nice to see. The wind was a bit wicked at times though. it's been crazy like that lately. It usually dies down at dusk, but this year it is still blowing pretty good after dark.

Had a beautiful day on the water. Anchored out by Hart Miller Island for a while, stopped by Sunset Cove for a crab dip and a burger, then anchored outside the end of the cut on the Bay side to watch the fireworks going off all around the shoreline.

Looking forward to the big fireworks display on the water this Saturday for sure!

Have not been out on the water yet for the holiday. Hopefully might get down tomorrow to the boat. I know there is a big show on Middle River on Saturday! We shall see if we stay down.

Great day for the river. Went out at 8am to read the paper and have coffee alone. Came back in at 4pm and took the wife and kids out, then back in again around 11. Came across 3 pontoon boats that had run aground, I couldn't do anything for them without doing the same thing. Looked like they were following each other in and right on up and into the reeds.

Rain rain rain. So far this summer is a bust. Already past our yearly rainfall total.

We had a great time out on the sound all day with friends. Its always nice to have a front row view of the fireworks. I have to agree with JVM225 the wind on LI this year has not let up. It makes me appreciate having a twin engine boat. If i still had my single screw boat I wouldnt attempt to go out at all.

Thankfully the weather broke long enough on the fourth so we could take the kids tubing on the Potomac.

Later in the afternoon, made a run up past colonial beach. Got to see several nice sea rays anchored in preparation for the fire works.

We went back to camp to have adult beverages and to watch the show from the boat white tired to the dock.

All in all,a great fourth spent with family and friends!

We couldnt get out on the water because of the coastal storms but we spent the day at Disney's Magic Kingdom. Had a good time.

It was pretty good. We went out crabbing and are currently on Lake Washington for the remainder of the weekend.image.jpg

Happy hour at the dock, nice dinner, So-so date. Decided it was better to stay docked. Plenty of local fireworks. Avoided the crowds. Meh

Cruised down the James to visit with some friends, they served up some good food, then we anchored overnight to watch the fireworks at Willamsburg and Busch Gardens (simultaneous shows). Spending the rest of the weekend cruising the Chesapeake bay for the first time.

Weather broke just perfectly for this trip, couldn't ask for better, which is a very nice change.
