2007 Searay Sundancer with Bravo 3. Just curious how can you tell where the outdrive position is when using the switch on the shifter. I hate just holding the down button longer than needed. Probably stupid question but figured I would ask. Thanks

It may be integrated with the Mercury smart gauge and I will check that gain. Thank you

With a 2007 260 DA, it should be on the on of the gauges. I think that model had Smartcraft quad gauges. In that case the trim indicator would be on the bottom right quadrant, next to the fuel.

If the trim gauge is not working it's likely the trim position sender(s) on the outdrive have gone bad. This is a fairly common occurrence; they just go bad after a while. If you need the sensors replaced be sure to calibrate the smartcraft gauge; a boat mechanic may not do this.

After you get used to the boat you'll rely less on the trim position indicator. You can go by how the boat feels. On my 2006 270AJ (same hull) I would drop the drive all the way down before trying to get on plane, then trim it up as I got on plane until the boat felt right.
