I just had my boat transported over ground and the radar had to be removed. It's a Raytheon 41xx open array. After re-installing the array the unit had a "bearing pulse error." Basically the array wouldn't rotate. I was in the midst of testing connections and the circuit board and the whole unit just went dead.

I'm assuming the primary fuse blew. I think it's called the 401 fuse on the back of the main unit. My question is how do I get to it? It seems incredibly difficult to get to on my boat. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Not sure of your model, but I had a fuse go for the array which was in the fuse panel set the helm. It wasn't where it was supposed to be though... it was labeled accessory. It may be gassing power from the back of the main unit or another power source depending on your model though.

I am having the exact same problem and its driving me nuts! I have a 98 370 Dancer which was just transported. Like Titan, they had to pull the array from the arch. After the reinstall I got the same "pulse bearing error" message with the alarm and the array no longer turned. Ray no longer provides support on this old unit and no one knows what Im talking about. This unit worked flawlessly for 20 years and before I have to go out and spend a ton of $ on new electronics, does anyone have a clue how to correct this??? Thanks much!

I was close to pronouncing the circuit board in the array as dead, but I wasn't able to complete my testing when the power went out on the main screen. I also realize this is an old, obsolete unit, but when it's functioning it does its job. Since it's already on the boat I'd like to get it working until I figure out how I want to upgrade sometime down the road.

Anyone know the process for getting to the back of the radar screen to change out fuse 401?
