Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove these light bulbs so I can upgrade to LED? These are the cabin ones but the hardtop has the identical fixtures.

Cheers,

They look similar to our overhead lamps. If so, the chrome ring turns counter clockwise a small angle to disengage the pins from a lock. You may have to press up on the ring. The glass is a flat disk and may need to be gently pried off. That said, it might fall off the instant the ring comes loose. On ours the bulbs are halogen. They plug into the base with a two wire pin plug.

To answer your question about LED conversion. There are led lights that will fit the socket although it’s not clear if they will physically fit within the light cavity because of the difference in shape with the led and glass capsule halogen bulbs.

Are these on a dimmer? If so that complicates an led conversion as an led specific dimmer is needed. The newer versions of the Blue Seas light dimmers can handle both led and halogen bulbs. It’s not clear if older versions like our 09 vintage can handle leds. So that may something you need to check.

Thanks. I will try that technique to remove them.

I do have a dimmer switch in the cockpit, but not in the cabin.
Cheers,
