My radio has gone kaput, or at least the channels that control the cockpit speakers have. I need to replace it. It is the stock Clarion and is mounted in the lower half of the 120V panel. There is a trim ring that just pulls straight off, but I cannot figure out how to remove the radio? I don't see any screws or obvious "tabs". Any help? Thanks!

remove trim and and use removal tool to remove radio.
if you don't have removal tool, you could use pieces of formica or something similar and slide between radio and mounting sleeve (both sides at same time) and pull radio out.

The trim ring can be carefully popped off with a flat screw driver. Use one thin screw driver on each side of the radio to hold the retaining clips/tabs close to the radio, allowing you to pull it forward.

I'm clearly not doing this right... I took off the trim ring by hand. I got two thin screwdrivers and jammed them in the center of each side between the plastic of the radio and the metal sleeve and tried pulling. Nothing. Maybe I need some channel locks to pull the thing out? My fingers don't get much of a grip. Should it just pop right out or does it need some persuasion? I don't see any "tabs" and really can't tell that putting the screw drivers in there is doing any good, but it's so tight I can't really see what's going on...
