How To Remove Prop

Really, I was trying to document my ignorant mistake so people could laugh. I planned on rubbing it in an entirely seperate thread ;-)>

this thing is the BOMB!

i tried a wheel puller one fall and it fit properly but kept losing it's grip on the hub and popping off. i used penetrating oil, MAPP gas torch, tapping, you name it. finally i gave up and borrowed this baby from a buddy (J Levine on the boards) and got the one i had been laboring over for hours off in 3 seconds. i hadnt even attempted the other prop until i had the puller but when i did, that one popped off in 10 seconds. you MUST have the right tool for the right job or you will wind up cussing and swearing for hours and getting NOWHERE!

as for spare props on board, that really doesnt make much sense for me. 99.9% of my boating is done on the bay, so if i hit something, i'm calling tow-boat US and getting back in on their gas . once i'm at the slip i'll worry about replacing the fouled gear, whether it involve a diver or a short haul.
