How to remove headliner glue?

If you buy a multimax tool with a scraper attachment, this will get a lot of it off. Apply acetone to soften it up a little. If you want it all off, a grinder with a soft back pad and 30 grit sandpaper applied lightly will get it off, but be prepared for a mess.

I wouldn't worry so much about the glue vs. just pulling off the majority of the foam. Use a wire wheel or wire cup wheel and take it off with a drill. Any residual glue will be covered and hidden anyway when the new stuff is applied.

Yep, that's what I did... works very well... Sandpaper will gum up quickly, the wire wheel does not. Lay lots of painters plastic so the mess is controllable...

Wow, I did not think of a wire brush on a drill. I also have 2 of those scrapers as well. I was think of hours of chemicals and getting high while doing it, but that would of fried what little brain I have left. Thanks all!
