I am looking at a 2004 300 Sundancer and it has an electric engine hatch. I'm guessing the batteries were disconnected for the winter since switching the batteries on and turning on the main panel didn't work. Is their a bypass somewhere? The engine hatch is still connected to the ramp so it wasn't lowered manually.

Thanks
Neil

You may be able to take the wiring connection provided with the boat, maybe in the manuals bag, plug it into the cigarette lighter at the helm, connect the other end to an extra battery, and actuate the hatch.

If not, look for access panels in the engine hatch, open it/them, pull the release pins on the lifting arm(s), then get a crowd of your best friends who like cheap beer and lift it up manually. There is probably an arm to hold it open, but don't trust it with your life.

John's got the procedure to open it.....but if you lift it manually, have a 4 ft long 2 x 4 with you to prop up the hatch, because there aint nothin to hold it up.

I have an 05 300 DA. On that year/model there is an access panel below the steering wheel. Open that up and there are two terminals for positive/negative. Hook up a battery to it with jumper cables and that will activate your switch on the dash to open/close the hatch. Don't know if 04's are the same but not much changed between the years. Good Luck

I had an 03 300 dancer which came with a 12 volt male to plug into the dash receptacle and connect to a battery. I actually never tried it but it came with the manuals...Good luck.
