How old a feller are ya?

Waaaay off topic. I used to slip next to an older retired couple where the wife had her captains license and ran the boat. They were day trip fishers, not destination boaters. Man I was sooo jealous. She was starting to work with my now ex-wife.

What I would give to leave the helm and enjoy the boat from other spots on the boat while at cruise.
That's why you have kids. My wife will run the boat if I ask her too, or if she has too like when I had COVID last summer. However, most of the time I'm not running the boat my oldest is running it. I enjoy driving it, so I am at the helm most of the time, or I could be a control freak, Jury's still out on that. I am getting the hang of being driven.

This is my gf on the last boat. It took 5 mins of pleading to get her there and I had about 5 seconds to take the pic. I thought she was going to pull the wheel out she was gripping it so tight :)

She should probably ease up on the trim tabs a little bit, going by that picture the bow must have been plowing pretty good:D

IT here as well...lol. I'm in the cyber security sector. CISSP. Hoping to 'retire' in 4 or 5 years at about 57 or 58
IT here for a 3 letter railroad. 28 years past Tuesday. Wont retire. Work at home and the yearly bonus is amazing. 6 weeks vacation. They actually pay me to do this. No way in hell I walking away from this gravy train.
PS. May 1st my yearly every Friday off till end of year starts. Until December when the last 2 weeks I done.
In case anyone thinks I milking it. RR run 24/7/365. All the up all night calls, working upgrades on holidays/weekends so we don’t interrupt train movements. I earned this. Railroading… it’s not a job it’s a way of life. That’s a true saying. Proud of it.

in my opinion the older crowd has had more time to build wealth. unless u r born with with a silver spoon it takes a little time.

I’m 11-teen mentally. Ask my wife. :)

Chronologically, I’m 53. Wife is 53, married 16 years. We skipped the first marriage/divorce, and got married later, about 38, first time for both. One daughter 13.

Currently trying to drop the Covid-19 lbs and avoid any medical issues.

Boat keeps me young, but boy, after a day doing MX, I really feel it.

I’m 37 - been with my wife for 16 years married for 8 of them - ( I can’t believe she’s put up with me for that long) 3 kids with another on the way. Son who is 6, two daughters 3 and 1.5 years old and the bun in the oven is another daughter. All kids have been on the boat within their first week of coming into this world. My 6 year old is already taking the helm of our 18’ flat bottom CC - however he’s still a little throttle happy so dad sits on the throttle side.

I am impressed by how many of us are in the married for 30 plus years club. No offense to those who's marriages did not work out, but I think folks that figure out how to persevere through life in this otherwise disposable culture we find ourselves are pretty damn remarkable!
Carry on
Carpe Diem
