How not to do a genny install

OK! you all are saying I should not have my genny in the bilge?? I had it setting on deck but it was hard to talk over it. I do sleep very well on the boat with the window air and the genny running. yawn I am getting sleepy again. You know it's hard to type too when that thing is rrrrrrrrrrrunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnniiiiiiiigggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg oops sorry I droped off there.

Someone should tell him you are not supposed to use solid romex wire in a boat. I'm sure a surveyor would catch that...

But at least he erred on the side of caution and used 10 gauge!

This is incredible, nobody has spotted this as a simple, run of the mill IED being planted by "GAB"! (Greenies Against Boating)

It's a multi-stage device. If the CO doesn't get you, the expolosion from the vented fuel cap in the bilge plus a little spark will.

Of course, that may not be a bad thing when you consider who may actually pull that starter cord.

This thread can't go 4 pages. It's not even 3 yet. :). Someone needs to step up and tell this boat owner how to make this completely safe. Then we go 10 pages. I do like the idea of the running the bilge blowers. Do they make a high output blowers for this generator purpose? Ha Ha

Well for one there is no remote start what a hassle having to pull start in the bilge! Second I am surprised that there is not a connection to the main gas tank to keep it running... I guess the owner was going to do those 'upgrades' over the winter...

I think remote mount of that meter to the cabin would be cool also!
