How NOT to clean a motorcycle chain *GRAPHIC PICS*

OH man that looks painful..sh!t

Oh... thanks Bill.... now I have to go back to therapy. This hand looks identical to mine, except I only had 2 fingers involved. This really brings back memories. Back in 2000 I was mowing the lawn with a raking attachment. Mower tipped over on the hill. I could have just got outta Dodge, but noooooo, had to try to keep the mower from tipping. In short, shut off motor, and hand slipped under deck. BTW, it takes time for the blade to stop after mower is shut down. I really feel for this guy..... it only takes a split second of stupidity. Oh... and did you know that I'm a jazz pianist?

All of this is far more than what I needed to see.

But the fact that the title read "GRAPHIC PICS", I couldn't help it. In fact, I think the mouse clicked on it all by itself!

Now I must hurl.

 Thanks guys! I'm gunna be real careful next time I clean my motorcycle or mow the lawn on my boat!

I know what you mean.... but everyone is looking at chains and blades, but THINKING props. Those pictures I know I DON'T want to see.

Ouch!!! I really did not need to see those pictures!:wow:

after seeing that, i'm glad my harley has a belt drive!
Don't let that mislead you... Belts can do almost the same kind of damage. You have to stop and think about what you're doing.

I saw this last week, it reminded me of people on farms getting arms pulled into the augers for filling silos, and on corn/silage wagons with similar gear. Lots of folks lose limbs due to chains/augers/etc. each year. Luckily, we don't see all those images. I have a good friend that is head of an ER room, in a farming community, I have to give him credit for dealing with those kinds of cases.

My best friend growing up had 3 toes chopped off(at 9 yrs old) by his 12 yr old brother who was mowing lawn, when he got to close to the riding mower. His parents grabbed his toes, and rushed their son to the hospital, but the Docs weren't able to save the toes. He had to re-learn how to walk.

vt, i was kinda joking....kinda not. with all the guards on mine, that would be far too pre-meditated of an oops to be accidental.

i knew a man whose arm was pulled off in a conveyor belt. he was working on it when someone took off the lock outs. i can't imagine what it was like for either of the two involved.

Saw this on another forum, had to share

That guy won't be picking his nose for awhile...geez. A coworker lost the tip of his right hand index finger. He was really po'd that it was his trigger finger. He took a pic with his cell before the doc trimmed it up.

Ok, just wanted to make sure.

I had a friend of mine back in the early 80's, riding dirt bike, took a flip and went over the handlebars, when he hit the dirt, his hands were still on the handlebars, his clutch hand, still on the clutch between the clutch and the ground, as he went flying, left the top joint on 3 fingers on the clutch and ground. Those joints aren't held on by much.
