How much NoFlex Digestor per week for maintenance?

So, for my use, usually 2 people, 2 nights....

Looking for advice and suggestions. I treat the weekend on Friday night, can't imagine it's better to do 2 scoops each night, but if I am wrong, please let me know

After pumpout, I should add 4 scoops for the initial treatment, then another 4 scoops (2 people for 2 days).

If I don't pump out, add 4 scoops the next weekend.... does that sound about right?

I really want this to work, thanks for all the advise and info

If you are just starting to use it, maybe using that much is warranted. I have been using it in this boat for 3-years. 1-full scoop in each head after pump out and then maybe one scoop in each head during the course of a weekend. 1/2 scoop in each head on Sunday and leave it. Changed vent filter 3 years ago and always pump out at 3/4 full. No smell...also put a scoop in the shower drain once/month and never have to clean the shower box.

How many people are on your boat for the weekend?

I just put 4 scoops for 2 people on Friday night. Do you think it makes a difference to space them out? I just figured the longer the noflex was in there, the better

That should do it.
Thanks Craig, I appreciate the advice

I know it's not cheap, and I've always used it. When I rebuilt my two VG-4 vacuum pumps, I was prepared for the worst, but there was nothing, no smell...so I spend the money...

This.....I am not a fan of stinky jobs and the cost is minimal vs not using it.

How are you guys dumping it in the head? I get some of the particles stuck in the ball seal and it doesn't want to seal right....

I find a light sprinkling in the bowl when we leave for the week has a clean bowl on return. It is dissolved by then and doesn’t cause the issue Firecadet brought up.

Apparently the Admiral has a different plan. She read it was good to clean the bowl and seal with NFD so she brushes it around with the bowl brush and rinses it down.

Anytime we flush, we hold the pedal down 10 seconds to clear the lines with water. This solves your problem as well...

Does anyone else agree.....I've started using Noflex, and the biggest PIA is the calculation, when to put it in, how much, put some in holding tank directly, yada yada. I get that it works, but at least with the blue stuff you pour it in after a pump out and forget about it!! Just venting.....

I used NFD for a few years but went back to the blue stuff. 4 oz after a pumpout and a splash when we get down on Friday. No smell problems and a $20 gallon lasts forever.

I am using it this year for the first time... Does anyone know if using too much can damage the duck bill valves or any seals? It is a peroxide oxidizer so I would think that might be hard on some rubbers/plastics.
The maker of Noflex Digestor also sells a lubricating toilet bowl cleaner. You can get 10% off today at https://www.boatersmate.com/shop

One thing you are not taking into account with this post is the variable sensibilities of peoples nose. My admiral can smell natural gas at levels that a gas leak detector cannot even detect.

We have friends that brag about their chemical and how their boat doesn’t smell, I may not even notice, but the admiral does.

If you are happy using what you were using that is great, but other people may be Holding their nose. LOL

This seems like an appropriate thread to leave this. I remember back when I started Boating saying “Formaldehyde free“ on waste tank treatment products. But I had no concept of what that meant. An old salt was explaining that long ago that back in the day they used formaldehyde to literally preserve the waste so it wouldn’t stink until you could pump it out. LOL

I can guarantee that my boat or my shit doesn't stink!

This is so right!
my buddy can't smell anything, i walked in his boat like "WOW!"
Ended up getting him the info to rebuild his electric toilet, seals were bad and the tank smell was backing into the bathroom/whole salon....

headed there in the next few days (hopefully) to see if its better,

I've never had a problem with that Creekwood...

Used it in three different boats over 12 years...

Wondering why when I googled "best rv/boat holding tank deodorizer/treatment" Noflex isn't on the list at all. Everyone on Club Searay swears by it, and I agree it works.
