The hole saw thread started me thinking about this. I lost the entire setup into the drink.

What of yours is under there?

I have the saw, $500 worth of key fobs-thanks kid ON Father's Day, and various other worthless stuff. How about you?

We named one of our favorite places on LKN iCove in memory of the phone we left there.

I look at it from a different angle.....at the start of the season I dump a few old, unused tools into the water beneath my slip and consider this my contribution to King Neptune. For that, he has given me many years of safe boating.

$5 a year for old tools that I probably got free from Harbor Freight vs many years of safety on the water. That's a good deal in anyone's book.

Just kidding, of course. I've dropped a few tools over the side but nothing of value.

At least 3 iPhones, a stroller, Ray Bans, my favorite hat, my favorite visor, unknown amount of kids toys, and of course a few tools.

My most expensive drop was my IPod and wallet. I did retrieve the wallet though. Last year I was washing the boat and my Shurhold brush went overboard and disappeared under the lily pads. 2 months later, my buddy was able to fish it out. Salvaged the pole at least.

$140 snap tool offered to the Gods.

I've lost a few tools, more on my old Aft Cabin than any other boat because there were just a lot more "opportunities" for loss on that boat! LOL!

On my previous bowrider I lost a couple hats that flew off, and the wife lost a couple herself. Went back for one that was special to me and was able to fish it out because it was still afloat and visible but the rest were just "gone".

Thankfully I haven't lost a phone or a wallet! THAT would put a damper on my day for sure!!

Brand new Ruby Smartphone, various small tools and a zinc guppy when the cable parted ways with the zinc.

well step-father lost his hat. we turned back but it was gone. i thought it would float but if it did we couldn't find it. i also lost a flip-flop right off my foot on the swim platform but luckily it floated and i was able to grab it. but we only have about 3 months on the water so give us time:smt001

iPhone tools hats sunglasses my wife with her bag of clothes pocketbook wallet new fan and other stuff. She can't swim. But managed to grab the ladder

glass / canvas peice that I dropped twice trying to zip it back on in the middle of the night... obviously the second time I dropped it I never got it back... $260 not including all the ribbing from the wife.

The next day, I got some looks and some "thats a great idea" from dock mates when they saw my throwable tied to my drill when I was installing a step on the dock. Still have the drill!

My son, when he was about 13 was standing on the swim step, playing a game on his first phone. Plop, into the water. I will never forget that sad look, as he looked up at me, and then started crying. A hard lesson, but dad broke down and bought him a new one.

6 folding chairs, 4 fishing rods, 2 dock hooks, 3 sunglasses, 1 cell phone and me I fell in LOL.

1 cell phone, 2 hats, 3 screwdrivers, and 2 grease drip trays for my Magma....

More than a few tools and a 400.00 pair of prescription Serengeti sunglasses

A bbq bracket. A waste deck fill cap. Sunglasses. And a ladder.
rule of thumb, if it sinks you'll drop it overboard. if it floats you won't

2 cell phones, dock line snubber, SeaRay mat

Mid day entertainment at the Paper District Marina for CSR Rendezvous was a bunch of friends with a net taped to a long harbor hook trying to recover prescription sun glasses after about a 1/2 hour of trying hope was almost gone until the daughter walked up and came up with them with her first try.The she just walked away like she was the boss and did it all the time.We all laughed and made fun the owner of the glasses the rest of the weekend.
