Asked this in the broker's section, but didn't get a response...

I'm wondering what an average MSRP was for a 24' cuddy cabin, in the late 70's, early 80's? I found a nice one, but the asking price is pretty high. Made me wonder how much it was new.

$10K, $20K, 30K, etc.? I'm just looking for an 'ish. What did a 24' boat cost...back in the day?

I was wondering the same thing about my 86 Seville 21MC - Just curious.

I believe a 1976 SRV 240 cuddy with a single V8 had a suggested list of about $10,000

My old boat, a 1982 SRV 260 SXL had the origional sicker still with the boat. It sold new in 1983 for $37,000! That was a lot of green back in the day. I remember in High School thinking that if I ever made 24K I'd be rich sice that is what a new Porche 928 sold for in 1981. That puts it into perspective a bit I think.

Yea. I'm thinking you could still buy a decent, new car for around $10K. I figured boats were probably close. The one I'm watching is asking around $8K. Really impresive if you could keep a boat for 30 years, and only lose a couple grand on it (that's about $100/year to own) - Wow!

we all know the cheapest part of owning a boat is just the purchase.

I have a couple of buyers who want my boat bad for 16 to 18k when and IF I decide to sell if that helps.
