How many hours this season?

259 hour this season in Minnesota. The boat is a 2000 and only had 240hrs when we bought it. I'm starting to think we are high users...

Holy Cow! For Minnesota - ya that's a lot of hours!

The 2000 240 I just traded away only had 225 hours on it.(half of them were mine in the two years I had it) My 2005 280 has 260 hours or so. I probably put about 50 - 60 hours on per season.

225 hours this year. half of that was the trip up. I think I put about 300 hours on the Gen.

major restauration + launched august 7 + terrible september weather = only 25 hours :smt089

Only about 25 hours this year after 100 2 years ago. But many factors involved:
  • Sick wife most of the summer
  • Really crappy weather
  • New granddaughter visits 500 miles away
  • 2 marina friends sold their boats and quit boating.
But she is for sale and we hope that a different boat and marina shed will put new interest back in for next year.

130 hours on engines, almost 400 on genny.

About 50 on the engines and 40 on the genny. Dock behind the house so we spend a lot of time at the dock.

60 on the engine, about 80 on the genny. About the same as last year.
But, for some reason, I wanted to know how many miles travelled, so, I kept a running log on the mi. with the GPS. Total for the season was 452 miles. Kind of surprising since I was just running around the lake.

1 1/2 hrs.:smt089. I was sick for over 2 months this summer. :smt021
She was a dock Mary and I just used it as a camp when I could get up to the marina.. :smt089. :smt013

Bought the boat June 30 with 155 hours on it and put it away October 11 with 255 for a total of 97 hours. I have no idea on the Genny we hardly use it so maybe 15 or 20. We do excersise it weekly or biweekly.

255 minus 155 = 97 hours....?

That must be that new math my kids were telling me about

71 on the mains, 14 on the gen
778 N. miles.
947.1 gallons of gas :smt089
(maybe it's a good thing that the wind blew from mid August on)

Has the new larger boat changed your boating? Do you make longer trips now to see new territory for example?

It changed our boating a little. We pushed the limits of the 280 and this boat fits our boating much better. Longer trips are much more comfortable and the extra range minimizes fuel stops. We anchor out almost all of the time now. The tackle, gen, space, and all the creature comforts allows us to drop the hook and stay for longer. A nice dinghy allows us to explore more places while at anchor or make runs into town. We're able to notch up our rough weather trips a couple of rungs which would have kept us tied to the dock in the 280. Not that it's a piece of cake, but we don't feel like we're going to die. Autopilot is freakin' awesome, That changed our boating the most. 8 hours in the 280 was a long long day. 12 hours on the 450 with autopilot is no problem.

We're planning another Florida trip so I guess the answer is a loud yes that it's allowed us to expand our cruising grounds tremendously.
