How many hours do you put on a year and how many months do you boat?

We boat 12 months per year and enjoy every minute of it. However, there is usually a lull during duck season and we also spend a few weeks in late February/early March in Montana skiing.

The admiral says that she is holding the line on the gas budget this year. Wow, this should be good. I bet we bust that budget by June.

We boat year round at our coast and from about now until early Nov at the lake house. Last year between the three boats, about 400 hours or so. SB

Due to a particularly lousy weekend weather year + increased fuel costs, we only logged 40 hours last season. We do most of our boating March-October. If the weather is decent, we have stretched the season into November and January. My strategy this year will be (again) to take shorter trips to control the fuel budget, but we intend to stay overnight on the boat 2-3 weekends per month. It really doesn't seem to matter if we tie up 10 or 50 miles from our slip -- our family fun quotient is still high while out on the water.

The boat stays in the water here in Northern Cal so we boat year 'round. We put on about 100 hours last year. With the price of regular unleaded at our marina now at $4.40 our days of just "goin' out for a ride" may be curtailed somewhat but we will still go on some overnight cruises.

typically I put on about 65 -70 per year and the average season is April through October

Geez- I knew I was sick, but you guys had to go and confirm it. I don't think I'll post my average hours per year. One, I'd throw your averages for a loop and two, it'd make it harder for me to justify the expenditure. Before this thread, I could 'assume' that there was a healthy portion of people with boat-itis.

Was out of boating for 2 tears, back in this year. Before average was between 250-300 hrs per season. Live in Canada so go in near the end of April, out by mid October. Reason for my hours, is I fish and therefore troll mostly, will stay out for the day on nice days rather than go back and tie up at the mariina. Will stay out and just float around untill time to troll and work my way back to the marina.

I boat March to November regularly, but can boat year round here. Although December - February is pretty cold. i only put 45 hours my first year, but I mostly drive about a mile r two then "park" the boat at crab island and just hang out.

I put approximately 80 hrs in my first boating season ever. I plan to do the same this year and can't wait to splash on April 12th!!!

80 to 100 hours and March to November. This may change with the Cruiser. We started this year in February although limited because my 6 and 2 year old get cabin fever :smt013(so do I) We want to be in the water not just on it.

Last 2 years was funny - exactly 120 hours each year. Was hoping for more last year - but that work thing gets in the way. Hopefully this year? Got a couple more people I know interested in some trips...so, time will tell! What hurts us though is our season is really mid-April to mid-November - and that's for us die-hards. You really can't go anywhere far except for june / july / august - and maybe a bit of Sept. So a short season!
